Le Comité de jumelage de North Tawton reçu à la mairie de Blangy le Château

In honor of the 40th anniversary of the twinning of Blangy le Chateau and North Tawton, a small town in Devon, the council and the twinning association hosted a delegation of a dozen English from May 22nd to the 25th.

A welcoming reception was held at the town hall with the Mayor Denis Favril, his deputies and the town council for our visitors. Barbara and Allan Percy, president of the association of jumelage, had prepared a busy 4-day agenda. Visits to the Chateau de Vendeuvre, the cider and calvados distillery of the Chateau du Breuil, old fashion open air market and guided visit of Pont-L’Eveque. At the invitation of Yves Deshayes, Mayor of Pont-L’Eveque a special visit of the old prison had much success. All the festive meals helped reinforce the excellent atmosphere that reigned.

At the airport Deauville-Normandy, the goodbyes were very warm and friendly. On behalf of the North Tawton twinning comity Christine King, the president, extended an invitation to the twinning association members of Blangy for a visit at the end of August to celebrate the 40th anniversary in England. Everyone is waiting impatiently for this new meeting after these several days spent together to the pleasure of all.
