The twinning association, Blangy-le Chateau to North Tawton for the 40th anniversary in England

After a visit in May of a delegation of English, it was, end of August, the turn, of the Castelblangeois to go North Tawton, Devon to celebrate the 40 years of the twinning of the two towns.

During the reception luncheon, Isabelle Pivert, Deputy Mayor, on behalf of the Mairie of Blangy presented to Gill Hoggins, Chairman of the council of North Tawton, and her deputy, Carrol Burrow, a beautiful book on the Normand Gardens indicating that our territory, was considered “the garden of the coast”.

The 4-day agenda was very busy. The touristic program of Thursday in the Datmoor led us to be infused by the atmosphere of “ Wuthering Heights”, to visit the museum of the Princetown prison that housed French prisoners from the Napoleonic wars. The next day visit of the prehistoric caves of Torquay then the museum Bygones transporting us backs a 100 years to the era of Queen victoria. Saturday, started with a visit to the Drogo Castel before a closing barbecue that night.

The prevailing excellent atmosphere was reinforced by festive meals. Christine King, for North Tawton and Allan Percy for Blangy-le Chateau can rejoice in the success of theses exchanges.
